The US Department for Transport revealed that it has received applications from Southwest airlines to increase its flights to Riviera Nayarit. Becoming a second home owner at Villa La Estancia just became even more feasible!
Potential for More Flights to Riviera Nayarit
In a press release last December 2014, Southwest Airlines revealed that it has sought approval from the US Department for Transport for flights from Houston (William P. Hobby Airport) to Puerto Vallarta – Riviera Nayarit International Airport. “Service to Mexico will be the cornerstone of our international operation at Hobby; the four cities we are announcing today (December 11th) provide exciting travel and business options for consumers,” revealed Gary Kelly, Southwest Airlines Chairman, President and CEO.
Southwest Airline’s regular flights from Houston are due to start from October 2015, in time for next year’s high season for winter snowbirds. Houston is a great hub for many connecting flights, which will make it even easier for people to get to Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta on vacation and hopefully make flights cheaper thanks to healthy competition.
Flights from Houston to Riviera Nayarit will come in addition to the recently announced flights from Santa Ana, California to Riviera Nayarit starting from June 7th, 2015.
The More Flights the Merrier
This is great news for vacation owners and those interested in real estate in Riviera Nayarit as the potential for more and more budget airlines continues to increase and bring down prices of flights as well as open up more direct flight routes.
